For a course longer than 3 months, you'll need to secure a 'D study visa', the requirements for which are as follows:
1.Letter of acceptance from an accredited university
2.English language proficiency test scores- IELTS or TOEFL

4.Initial proof of funds for a living (minimum €7,000/ year of study). If your study in Ireland lasts more than a year, you'll need to show a sponsor or additional living funds of €7,000 for subsequent years.
5.Proof of medical insurance
When you're enrolled to study in Ireland on a program recognized by the Internationalization Register, you receive a 'Stamp Number 2' visa that allows you to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during your term and 40 hours per week during the vacation period. You are not allowed to work in Ireland as an international student if your program is not mentioned on the Internationalization Register.

2.The Walsh Fellowship- Granted every year to 30 postgraduates working on Teagasc Research and Knowledge Transfer Program projects. For M.Sc. courses, the duration is 2 years, and for Ph.D. programs, it is for four years. The scholarship grants €22,000 per student.
3.The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship- Granted to students to pursue their research MS and Ph.D. programs. The scholarship grants a stipend of €16,000 per annum, eligible direct research expenses of €2,250 per annum, and a part of fee contribution (up to €5,750 per annum).
